Project “Development of an Innovative Technology”

JSC Kemek Engineering is implementing the project “Development of an Innovative Technology,” No. 02-092-K-0041. The project is financed under the 2022–2030 Development Programme administered by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, within the Economy Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme, progress measure No. 05-001-01-04-02 “Promote the transition of enterprises towards a climate-neutral economy.” The funding covers the activities “Create conditions for a sustainable transformation of very small, small and medium-sized industrial enterprises” and the sub-measures “Promote the development and demonstration of innovative, environmentally friendly (i.e., sustainable) technologies that foster the production of sustainable products in very small, small and medium-sized industrial enterprises (Central and Western Lithuania region)” and “Implementation of environmental management systems in accordance with international standards and/or performance of production technological audits; eco-design, eco-labelling and certification (Central and Western Lithuania region).” The project is carried out under the instrument “Green Experiment + Eco-innovations.”

Total project value: EUR 752,723.91, awarded funding: EUR 375,556.22, financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Project implementation period: from 2025-07-01 to 2027-03-30.

Project objective: through R&D activities, to develop an innovative technology and to conduct a production technological audit. By addressing identified scientific and technological uncertainties, the project will create an automated biofuel inspection quality-assurance technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), enabling a substantial reduction of energy losses, CO₂ emissions and waste. A production technological audit will also be carried out within the project.

Project ,,FragileP“

UAB  „KEMEK Engineering“ with partner UAB ,,Amber pasta“ implement the project ,,FragileP“ No. 02-019-K-0151. The project „FragileP“ is financed under the progress measure No. 05-001-01-05-07 “Establishing a coherent system for the promotion of innovative activities” under the activity “Stimulating the supply of innovations” under the activity “Investing in activities for the development of new R & D products and creating conditions for researchers to participate in R&D activities of enterprises, promoting intellectual property, early pilot production of new products developed, and market readiness” (region of Central and Western Lithuania).

Implementation period The total value EU Funding
01.12.2023 – 03.06.2026 2.063.949,30 EUR 929.995,85 EUR

Project is funded by the European Regional Development Funds. Objective of the project – to develop a methodology for handling of fragile products in complex production systems, which would enable the creation of a globally innovative product – a complex technological line for cutting-filling-moving-palletising of fragile products, which would ensure a speed of up to 110 packages per minute in all the parts of the line, and which would enable a reduction of the amount of defects of fragile products (broken or damaged in any other way) 4 times. An integrated technology line will be developed through funding opportunities and experimental development activities. This line can also be applied to other industrial sectors (e.g. electronics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics) that also require fast and efficient transfer of a fragile product without damaging the product itself. The newly developed product, a high-speed integrated standardised technology line for the cutting-facing-transfer-palletizing of fragile products, aims to solve several problems (such as: efficiency and speed, product loss, complexity and system integration, competitiveness and business diversification) and to improve the efficiency of production and the quality of products. KEMEK Engineering UAB is one of the leading companies in the three Baltic and CIS countries for the implementation of specialised technical solutions in the fields of automation and production process control. Main activities: development, installation and maintenance of specialised process control and automation systems; sales and service of weighing and dosing equipment, electronic components, laboratory and process equipment. In order to ensure the success of the project, we have engaged a partner – UAB Amber pasta, the largest and most modern pasta producer in Lithuania and one of the largest in the Baltic States. The knowledge and competences of the partner’s staff will contribute to the successful implementation of the experimental development activities and will help to achieve the project’s objectives. The efforts of the project promoter and the partner are focused on ways to increase production efficiency, reduce the risk of human error and increase output per unit time.
